1 Hour of Comfort Food Recipes: Cozy Classics That Taste Like Home

Okay, sometimes dinner just has to turn into a comfortable steaming plate of food in order to convince you. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or complicated at all. For example, add together words like creamy, hearty, buttery, or crunchy and everybody will be delighted to take a seat at the table.

That's precisely what these recipes for comfort food are focused on. Some of the items we have are homely versions of the convenience food that we used to eat as children, meals that are economical and can be made from a few items, potluck salads that have some really big ideas about what a salad is, and Sunday dinner that is fit for Grandma, of course.

I mean, having that shortcut at your fingertips must be so cool when you've mastered it. Besides the canned soup being a go-to, the following ones are also acceptable. Of course, everyone loves toast and canned corn, but these are also refrigerated biscuits, and whipped topping. Would it not be so exciting to be able to have, for example, the addition of personal touches like properly browning the meat, or toasting the bread before adding the toppings, to make the dish taste even better?

The redirect links to the complete ingredient lists and the steps for cooking are included on this page. In this piece, I explain the methods, the small changes, and the vital information that totally change these recipes from traditional ones to ones you would like to try again.

Key Takeaways

Childhood Comfort Food, Made Even Better

Homemade Beefy Noodle Hamburger Helper

Skillet of creamy homemade hamburger helper with cheddar, wide egg noodles, and a side of broccoli

Ever since we were kids, our dinner menu would often include Hamburger Helper. Out of the various flavors, I always preferred the cheeseburger but my mother consistently enjoyed cooking beef stroganoff. This simple recipe for Hamburger Helper is made with the best of both the flavors you would have in a cooking pot.

The very first thing to do is to brown and cook the lean ground beef well. Next, if there is a considerable amount of fat, you have to remove the excess. After that, you need to add some butter to the fried onion and the chopped one. I think that a little salt, pepper, and a trace of garlic powder would be great for seasoning as well. When the onion is soft, add a little flour and let it cook for about one minute.

First, mix in the beef broth to the pan and don't forget to scrape the browned bits off the surface, then the ketchup and the Worcestershire sauce, respectively. At the start, the ketchup will act as the flavor's counterbalance, and then the Worcestershire sauce will add to the dish's meaty taste. The next step is to switch on the stove and allow all the ingredients to simmer together in a satisfying way. Lastly, add the egg noodles directly to the sauce and mix them well without any additional steps.

SINGLE PAN DOES NOT EXIST. This is exactly the type of course I always love.

Put on the lid, lower the heat a little, and let it simmer for around 8 to 10 minutes, mixing it now and then to avoid sticking.

Once there remains a little liquid in the skillet, you have to add heavy cream or sour cream if you wish to taste that special stroganoff flavor, and also 4 ounces of cheddar. After that, turn off the heat, cover the skillet with a lid and leave it for 5 minutes. The liquid mixture is now a fabulous creamy sauce. Just combine it with some broccoli on the side and you are good to go in just half an hour.

French Bread Pizza With a Garlic Bread Base

What really makes French bread pizza super interesting is the opportunity to munch on the crunchy bottom and enjoy the gooey topping together. According to my ruler, the sweet-making has come out really well with garlic bread being 1st and pizza as the 2nd sweet.

Just take a French bread and cut it down the middle so that it opens up along the length of the bread. After that, both surfaces are to be spread with garlic-mixed melted salted butter along with a pinch of salt. Sprinkle it with grated Parmesan cheese and firstly, roast it before you add anything mocha. In this method, the initial stage for the bread is 375°F for a span of 4 minutes.

Let us now put pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese and then proceed to add cooked Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, and red onion. The last thing to do is to put a layer of cheese on top. When we put the cheese at the bottom and the top, it will be more convenient for the toppings to be in their places.

Repeat baking in the oven at 425°F for around 10-13 minutes, or until they are fully melted and gooey. Rotating fresh basil or parsley and crushed red pepper on it is such a great final touch. One loaf makes the family dinner really complete without any need to handle the stretched or rolled pizza dough. To see all the measurements, you can check the French bread pizza recipe.

Mamaw’s Chicken and Rice Casserole

Only a handful of the casseroles can go through the gauntlet of a beauty contest. But of course, this casserole does not need it. Mamaw's chicken and rice casserole is creamy, comforting, and it is almost unreal how easy it is to put together.

In a casserole dish, you can simply combine all the ingredients directly: three cubed boneless chicken breasts, one can of cream of celery soup, one can of cream of mushroom soup, one can of cream of chicken soup, 2 cups of instant rice, and 2 cups of water.

We at the same time are using the cans for the simple reason that there is a particular and suitable time for eating the tinned condensed soups, and the chicken and rice casserole that is really exceptional is that time. For my own adult i.def. add black pepper but the soup has already added enough seasoning.

In addition to giving it a light layer of butter, you can also set butter pats right on top of the chicken. Cooking it at a temperature of 400°F (about 200°C) for 1 hour as per the instructions, and making sure that the chicken is fully cooked are the crucial steps for this dish. After that, you can let it set for about 5 minutes before you serve that. At this time, the rice has settled, the chicken is tender, and no one is burning their tongues anymore.

Monkey Bread That Smells Like Saturday Morning

The process of making Monkey bread is reminiscent of my ferry problems. It is the most simple thing to do with only the ingredients that you have at home. The combination is quite simple: cinnamon, sugar, butter, and brown sugar. I would consider this recipe as one of my top choices because of how easy it is to create and the outcome of it being very delicious.

You need to chop the biscuits into tiny, bite-sized bits. The smaller the parts the more of the cinnamon sugar and buttery glaze will the biscuits get. Continue tossing until all the parts are completely coated, and just toss them into the pan which has been greased with the bundt or tube type.

My mom had a unique way of doing this, as she mixed all the ingredients in a grocery paper bag which was her secret trick for this. Or instead of using a paper grocery bag, you can use a food-grade bag or a bowl that are both big enough to do the job.

First of all, to obtain the sticky mixture, you have to take a stick of butter and a cup of brown sugar. Heat them together until they become boiled. Keep them boiled for precisely one minute. Then pour it on the biscuits and bake them in the oven at 350°F. For the timing and quantity, stick to the monkey bread recipe.

Flip it after waiting for around 10 minutes. Then, there will be a small sticky piece that you can take off. When I was a kid, I would have loved to drink orange juice. Now that I am grown up, my desire is towards coffee.

Salisbury Steak With Mushroom Gravy

Homemade Salisbury steak dinner reminds me of the TV dinner I had during my childhood, but it is more than just the delightful gravy; it is also the real portion that looks like a proper dinner.

Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy, served with mashed potatoes and green beans

Take the mixture of ground meat, egg, dry mustard, soy sauce, ketchup, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper and put it in the bowl. Store in the refrigerator for a short time until it is ready to be shaped and made into oval patties.

I changed the mushroom Salisbury steak recipe in the following manner: cook the patties first, upon which the gravy is made in their drippings. The brown bits are too good to be thrown away.

Prepare the patties in a frying pan with butter, and put them aside once completed. After that, using the same skillet with a bit of extra butter, fry the onion and mushrooms. Put in a little spoon of flour, let it cook for a brief time, and then pour in the beef broth. Season it up with ketchup, Worcestershire, and black pepper, and don't forget to check taste it before you pour in the salt.

For the steaks to be fully cooked, they need to go back to the bubbling stage without fire sauce. To have a full experience of nostalgia, you can accompany them with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a brownie. A divided plate is not essential, but it is really fun.

Budget-Friendly Meals That Make Simple Ingredients Count

These affordable comfort food items tend to communicate to you that it is not all dishes that should lack flavor. Instead, every individual ingredient needs to serve its purpose. A good illustration of this is by adding oil, spices when it cooks, and using it with potatoes, noodles, beans, or bread to stretch it.

Hoover Stew

Hoover stew is a heavy dish that combines hot dogs, macaroni, tomatoes, beans, and corn. As you can see, it has quite a few pros: it is simple to make, it is a meal that fills you, and it is a big batch.

To make your meal colorful and tasty, first, Brown should cut the hot dogs into slices instead of just dropping them into the stew. The slight color you see brings the perfect taste. After that, you can add the canned tomatoes to the pot and as you do, make sure to scrape the bottom of the pot, and later, blend the beans and corn.

During this time, you should be cooking a pound of macaroni in salted water. Add it to the tomato mixture after draining and mixing. Let it all cook together for a while, but be careful with the tomatoes and if the pasta takes in too much liquid, which makes it dry, add some.

The only seasoning for the dish is salt and pepper. These are the dry spices you can use to the food fast. Smoked sausage or additional vegetables will elevate the dish. Nevertheless, the basic version has already fulfilled its promise: it is a hearty and hot dish.

Poor Man’s Meal

This potato, onion, and hot dog skillet comes from Clara’s Depression cooking recipe. Her approach is resourceful and reassuring, the kind of cooking that makes a handful of ingredients feel like enough.

In a small amount of oil, fry the small cut peeled potatoes and the diced onions simultaneously. It is right to season the potatoes with more spices than just at the end. If the potatoes are nearly cooked but they are still sticking a bit, you can always add a little water to it which will help to deglaze the pan and also cook the potatoes by steaming.

When the total medium has dried up and the potatoes have obtained mushy consistency, the time adds the thinly sliced hot dogs. At the final step, you will add the spoonfuls of marinara or leftover pizza sauce.

Adding 3 hot dogs, 2 potatoes, and 1 onion to the skillet was very close to being an incredible solution to the problem. The potato, as usual, was the creamy one, the onion was the one who merged into everything, a little amount of tomato sauce was the only one who made it perfect.

Easy Egg Drop Soup

Poor Man’s Meal skillet with potatoes, onions, hot dogs, and marinara sauce

My mom would often prepare egg drop soup for me, and among the various dishes that can be prepared with broth and eggs, this one is the simplest and most efficient.

Sprinkle ground ginger and salt to the chicken broth for taste. Before heating it up, remove a small amount of cold broth and mix it with cornstarch using a whisk. Cornstarch needs to be mixed with a cold liquid first. In case you add it directly to hot broth, you have a chance of getting lumps.

In addition, apart from the classic way, you could whisk whole eggs, and also add some extra yolks for a thicker and richer taste. After that, you may either choose to boil the broth and add the eggs one by one with a very soft stir in the broth to the forming little ribbons or otherwise. After that, you use the slurry according to the egg drop soup recipe, cook it a little more and then garnish with chopped green onions for a beautiful finish.

The egg stripes fairly resemble the shape of the noodles and the ginger broths are the most important ones that are adds normal sense of taste to noodles. No Sally is just a thing that marries you comfortably to cold winter nights, like a blanket that also easily lets you be in it with the minimal effort. Of course, the best part of this meal is that it does not consist of a lot of long, hard-to-follow ingredients.

Ground Beef-Stuffed Potato Pancakes

The idea of meat stretching is equally applicable to these stuffed potato pancakes, but this particular recipe is not known as a typical recipe for the Depression Era.

Form a stuffing by using the following components: 0.25 kg of beef ground, chopped onion, garlic, an egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Grate the potatoes separately and squeeze them out. The potatoes should be mixed with the flour, baking powder, seasoning, and one egg.

In a pan that has been greased with oil, you are first Extending a very thin layer of potato mix. Then, you place a beef filling layer, which is nearly to the edges and finally, it is topped with more potato. Fry until both sides are crispy and they are done inside.

Two potato pancakes in a skillet with thin ground beef layers exposed before covering
Keep the beef layer thin so the filling cooks through with the potato.

The result has the comfort of a burger-and-potato dinner tucked into one crisp package. Do not judge doneness by the golden outside alone. For these and the Salisbury steaks, the safe internal temperature guidance is 160°F for ground beef.

Eggs With Peppers and Potatoes

The dish that is her go-to for a craving for something very tasty but at the same time she does not want it to be very heavy is this skillet dinner.

To get ready to cook this dish, the first thing you need to do is cut the potatoes into very thin rounds, which can be pan-fried directly. Then, pour in the sliced onion and bell peppers, which can be green peppers alone or a combination of green and red. They are recommended for oil or bacon fat and seasoning with salt.

Lower the temperature, put on the lid and leave it for 10-15 minutes simmering with occasional stirring until you achieve the tenderness of the potatoes and soft of the peppers. The next step is to add the beaten eggs and mix them until they are evenly scrambled all over the vegetables.

Even though it may not be the centerpiece of the table, it certainly is as delicious as a cozy breakfast hash. My mother always has it with ketchup. I always prefer it with hot sauce.

Haluski: Cabbage and Noodles

Haluski, or cabbage and noodles, is a dish that capitalizes on the potential of affordable, nutritious components.

A good idea for the egg noodles to be more tasty is to try the addition of strips of sliced cabbage and onion that intermingle naturally with the noodles. You can start by frying the onion in butter or bacon grease, adding some seasoning, and then putting in the cabbage. You can fry it until it becomes very soft.

As clearly indicated by its title, this variant involves the use of tender vegetables instead of being deep brown however, caramelization is an alternative way to get the taste of more roasting. At the outset, you should boil the noodles separately, and after that, combine them with the cabbage, onion, and butter.

The dish is completed with a short baking time at a moderate oven heat, around 300°F, as the last step; however, instead, you may also let all the ingredients turn together over the stove for a bit more time. The cabbage gets a little melty and a little bit sweet. Does it look perhaps too simple? Maybe. Is it a lot comforting? Definitely.

Creamed Chipped Beef and Creamed Tuna on Toast

Toast is a wonderful way of turning a small quantity of protein and just a white sauce into a real piece of knife-cut and fork-eat dish.

Creamed chipped beef is made by melting butter in a pan and then adding the same amount of flour to it and cooking it for a brief period of time. After that, you should gradually incorporate the milk by whisking it and leave the mixture to reduce to a thick texture. Lastly, you will need to add some finely chopped dried beef and a pinch of cayenne.

You'd better have a taste first before you put salt into it. Besides the dried beef, there is also the concentrated umami flavor.

Ok, I will tell you about the way I prepare a nostalgic dish which is a creamed tuna. For the beginning, you need to put some cornstarch in cold milk and mix it in a pan. After that, you will add some butter and then start heating it up while stirring it, one thing to remember here is that you will know that it is done when it turns thick like sauce. At last but not least, you need to add salt and pepper for seasoning.

You can either spread the canned tuna onto the toast and pour the sauce over it, or you can mix the tuna with the sauce beforehand. Logical as it is, a very easy pairing for tuna noodle casserole fans.

Old-Fashioned Desserts With Clever Pantry Tricks

Water Pie

Of course, it is difficult to think that a pie made out of water is even possible, let alone seeing it in real life. But by all means, it does and people who are extremely creative should be appreciated for that.

Straightforwardly pour a little water over the pie crust that has not yet been baked. Mix the flour and sugar, and spread it uniformly on the water surface without stirring. After it, put vanilla and the top with 5 tablespoons of butter.

If you are looking for the easiest way to bake the pie, then the first step is to place it on a baking sheet. The pie that is shown in this tutorial is supposed to be baked at 400°F for approximately 25-30 minutes; for the full recipe, please refer to the instructions given below.

The filling can also seem like it is still wet and foamy when it first comes out. Letting it completely cool is very important. Only after the cooked flour mixture is cooled down for several hours, it becomes firm enough to be sliced.

Desserts can be prepared even without the use of eggs, or the need for cream, or having a shopping cart filled with all kinds of ingredients. This is the chief message of the recipe I just said.

Wacky Chocolate Cake

Wacky cake is an amazing cooking trick that you can do because it is made without the use of butter and eggs.

Wacky chocolate cake with a thin cracked crust and a light dusting of powdered sugar in an ungreased pan

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. These include the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. The dry mixture should have three wells made for the oil, apple cider vinegar, and vanilla. Next, add water to the whole mixture and with the use of a fork mix them all together.

You can do it all in the baking pan directly, which is why you don't need a separate bowl to wash. The reaction between the vinegar and baking soda works to lift the cake, while the oil can keep it moist.

The oven should be turned on to 350°F before the cake is baked for about 30 to 40 minutes according to the full recipe. It is important to let it cool down properly before cutting to avoid the spoilage. The glaze or frosting is an option but only a little powdered sugar is enough. The cake is wet, very soft with a slight hint of chocolate and a delicate, thin crust on top. The concept seemed to be absurd but the practical result was a dessert.

Potluck Classics With Creaminess, Crunch, and Personality

Fritos Corn Salad

Fritos corn salad is just like taco salad and street corn. It is also the one you can prepare in just about 10 minutes.

Using canned corn which is well drained is the first step. Next comes the mixing of the chopped red bell pepper, jalapeño, cilantro, and red onion. If you prefer not to have it very hot by a mixed crowd, you can take out the seeds and inner membranes of the jalapeño.

The dish is made and uninhibited by the addition of 2 cups of shredded Mexican blend cheese to the mixture of mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. The sour cream and lime juice provide a counterbalance to the richness of the dish.

Would you like me to assist you with the recipe development? The creamy corn base can be made beforehand but the addition of the chips is a must at the last minute. The major part of why you should have it is the lovely crunch.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Yes! This dish is really a salad. Strawberry pretzel salad is considered to be classic salads of all sweet, candy, all salty, peanut butter, and all creamy, and crunchy salads.

First of all, you need to crush the pretzels and then mix them with melted butter and sugar. After that, make a press of this mixture into a lightly greased 9-by-13-inch dish and put it in a preheated oven at 350°F for approximately 10 minutes. Finally, you should let it cool down to the room temperature.

To make this dessert, the first step is to whisk together the cream cheese and sugar until they are well combined and fluffy. Next, you need to add the whipped topping by folding it in. Then, pour the mixture over the cooled crust and refrigerate it for one hour.

The average size of a household is 2.5 members throughout the EU. The EU's household size is less than the figure for the United States. Moreover, it is below the world average.

Cream cheese filling spread to the edges of a glass dish over a pretzel crust
A complete edge-to-edge cream layer helps keep the gelatin above the crust.

Initially, you will need to dissolve the strawberry gelatin into the hot water and after that, cold water and strawberries. Pour the mixture into the glass and leave it to cool before gently spooning it over the cream layer that is already chilled. Finally, you need to keep it in the fridge until it sets completely. Make sure to monitor the temperature in each step and be patient; the three layers will be clearly discernible.

Deviled Egg Macaroni Salad

The magic of this incredible deviled egg macaroni salad is to mix the yolks into the dressing and not to dice all the eggs together.

For preparing macaroni and eggs, the initial step is to cook the macaroni in a boiling water, then you add the eggs to the mix and after that rinse the pasta with cold water. The method illustrated is a one-pot dish that cooks both items simultaneously, where the total cooking time is 9 to 10 minutes after the eggs are added in.

Add crisp celery, aromatic green onion, appealing carrots, dill pickle, and chopped egg whites to the pasta. Make the fleshy yolks with mayonnaise, then throw the sugar, vinegar, yellow mustard, salt, and a heavy pepper note.

Just by mixing together all the components and adding paprika and green onion on the top, you can easily make the dish look extra beautiful. The yolks serve as the easily deviled effect of eggy creamy without being very eggy for each bite. Not sweet Dill pickle keeps the crispy and fresh taste but doesn't add the sweetness.

Cookie Salad

I know. Cookie salad. Stay with me.

To get that thickness so easily, just whisk 2 cups of buttermilk with two packages of instant vanilla pudding mix. Now it is the right time for the course of the folding in the whipped topping.

Pineapples are among the fruits that, due to their sweet and sour taste, are best for creating a tropical look apart from the other fruits that have already been mentioned. The pineapple chunks in the classic recipe can be replaced with tidbits, which feature smaller pieces of fruit. The fresh fruit should be drained completely of any excess juice to avoid the pudding base from being thinned.

The mixture needs to be cold firstly and then you can add the broken fudge-striped cookies by folding them in at the very last moment before serving. Consider it as a layered dessert with crunchy cookies instead of granola, velvety pudding, and fruits. It seems incredible, suddenly, the idea is not that ridiculous anymore.

Celery, Parmesan, and Date Salad

Prepare this rare potluck dish for the celery and Parmesan salad. It is a combination of Waldorf salad and Caesar salad.

The recipe for this dish starts with mixing rather large pieces of celery, cool cucumber, the bestsliced shallots, aromatic sweet dates, and apple. To prevent browning, it is good to cut the apple only at last.

The preparation of a Parmesan-forward dressing is very easy. You just need to mix the freshly grated cheese, olive oil, a little mayonnaise, a lot of lemon juice, honey, grated garlic, salt, and pepper to the dressing. This can be tossed along with veggies and fruits and finally, you can add the chopped pecans or walnuts.

In the salad, I can picture these things: the crunchy celery, the sweet variety of dates and apples, and of course, the lemon-flavored parmesan dressing, which serves as a unifying component to the salad. After that, some more parmesan cheese and freshly chopped celery leaves will be added. These leaves are just awesome that they should not end up in the trash.

A Complete Sunday Dinner Worth Slowing Down For

Pot Roast With Gravy, Carrots, and Potatoes

Families understand the concept of Sunday dinner differently, yet it is nearly impossible to refuse the idea of pot roast. The gravy that goes with the roast is prepared on the stovetop first and then the roast is shifted to the oven for slow-cooking.

After taking off a heavy coat of fat found on the surface of the rump roast, you have to season it with salt and pepper. The next step is to brown it well on all sides in hot oil, which will take you about 10 to 15 minutes.

To start with, you should remove the roast and use the dripping to sweat the onion, celery, and, garlic. Next, you would need to throw in one tablespoon of tomato paste after which you may add a bit of flour. Firstly, you should cook it for a while, and then you could put in the water and the beef bouillon paste, scrubbing the pot completely.

You need to put back the roast in the pan and pour Worcestershire sauce with 2 dried bay leaves. Close the lid and cook it at a constant temperature of 325°F for almost 1.5 hours.

The medium of cooking, add the gold potatoes and carrot big pieces. The meat is to be temperature-dominating for a few more hours. The veggie mush won't happen later on because they are added at a later time.

A turkey that is only half roasted is not a reason for you to think that you have failed to roast it. It just needs more time. It is very important to let the meat sit and rest for a while after you have cooked it to your desired level. You can do this while setting up the table for your guests.

Fluffy Mashed Potatoes

Certainly there are potatoes in the roast, and besides that, I would also like mashed potatoes with it. We need to find a way to make room to pour that gravy on.

To make these essential mashed potatoes, the best way is to double the linked recipe and skip the garlic cloves which are not a must to be added in this case.

 1. Start the potatoes in cold, salted water.
 2. Cook until very tender, almost falling apart.
 3. Drain and return to the hot pot so excess moisture evaporates.
 4. Mash while hot, then gradually add warmed milk and butter.
 5. Season with salt and pepper and finish with butter.

First, pour the warm liquid slowly and sparingly. Achieving the right texture requires it to be fluffy and creamy rather than being watery. The addition of sour cream is a nice touch that shows your personality but the plain butter one is the ideal choice for this table.

Grandma Mac’s Smothered Green Beans

Grandma Mac's green beans are soft and deliciously taste. Actually, it is a very old method.

Smothered green beans with bacon and onion in a rustic bowl

The first step is to fry the chopped bacon in a pan until it is crisp and the fat is nicely rendered. Add the onion and allow it to soften for a short while before introducing the trimmed green beans. Season with some seasoned salt, pepper, and a hint of sugar, being careful to adjust the amount of extra salt accordingly.

Add the beans first without being completely underwater - instead, just add enough water to come about halfway up the beans. With a lid on, simmer the dish for about 45 minutes or until the beans are tender.

This dish is not for the crisp, half-cooked beans. Instead, we like to have the soft and slouchy texture and also the full smoky stress of the bacon and onion. (total:1)

A Basic Salad With Homemade Thousand Island

Possessing the bases is of course an advantage. A Sunday salad can be easily made out of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, shredded cheese, and croutons.

Making Thousand Island dressing at home is easy. Just combine mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet relish, salt, pepper, and some vinegar, and you are done. I usually add about one part ketchup of two parts mayonnaise.

Just like the simple salads that I used to prepare when I was a child, I would dress the salad with the sauce on the side. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the crouton gets into the dressing before it even reaches the table.

Chocolate Cream Pie, Plus Jell-O and Whipped Topping

For dessert, the chocolate cream pie is recommended that you do not miss it. This pie consists of the baked pie base and it is filled with pudding made of the homemade style.

The very first thing you must do is to whisk the yolks along with the sugar on their own. After that, the combination of the egg mixture with cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt will be complete. Next, you will be streaming milk gradually to this mixture and you will mix it properly. You need to bring it to a boil and when it bubbles you should stay at the stirrer until it is thicker and leaves a track on the back of your spoon.

Add the cold butter and vanilla to the mixture and pour it directly into the baked crust. Then keep it to cool for a while and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours. This is a very easy dessert to prepare for Friday or Saturday to serve it as a dessert on Sunday dinner.

Thick chocolate pie filling coating the back of a wooden spoon over a saucepan

The dish that my grandmother has finally presented on the table, along with a bowl of Jell-O red topped with whipped cream. Two sweets? It was too hard for me to resist.

The only thing you need to do is prepare bread and butter, serve some gravy with it, and eat a meal that is not required to be varied. Sometimes the most comforting dish is just the food that reminds us of our home.
